Appleby Town Council’s Annual Meeting and Mayor Making took place on Wednesday 6th May.
The Councillors celebrated the re-election of Cllr Pamela Davidson as Chair of Appleby Town Council and Mayor of Appleby-in-Westmorland, alongside her re-elected Deputy Cllr Duncan Curley, who unfortunately could not be in attendance.
The Mayor’s Chaplain was announced as Rev Andrew Burrell; Mace Bearer is David Johnson and the Mayor’s Cadet and Sword Bearer for this year is Harry Avondale. In his absence, the previous Mayor’s Cadet, Lydia Thwaites, took his place.
Civic Service will be taking place on Sunday 17th May, with a service in St Lawrence’s Church at 10.45am.
The catering for the Mayor’s Luncheon was provided by Fell and Dales Catering, who did a wonderful job. We would also like to extend a special thanks to Simon Barnham, who provided the beautiful flowers and played the piano as our guests entered.
