It is with great sadness we share the news of Councillor John Pape’s passing. John passed away last week at the age of 91, with his wife of 65 years, Jennifer, by his side.
John was a much loved Councillor and great friend to all of us at Appleby Town Council. He first joined the Council back in 1994, and has served the town loyally for almost 32 years. As the longest current serving Councillor, he held the honorary title of ‘Father of the Council’.
He, as well as his wisdom, local knowledge and sense of humour, will be greatly missed.
Funeral Arrangements:
