Weddings in Appleby’s Historic Moot Hall
If you’re looking for somewhere that little bit different to hold your marriage ceremony, then the Council Chamber at Appleby’s historic Moot Hall is a unique venue for your special day.
The Grade II* listed building, constructed in 1596, is steeped in history and is believed to be one of only two Moot Halls in England still used for its original purposes of conducting town council business.
The Chamber can accommodate up to 40 people – including the couple, witnesses, guests and children (not the officiant, photographer or venue staff).
Costs:
Monday to Friday: £180
Saturdays: £240
Steps to secure the venue:
- Choose your preferred ceremony date and time, and provisionally book the marriage ceremony venue.
- Book your registrar and make sure they are available for your ceremony.
